Seven Days in Rajasthan: Why This Route Works
Rajasthan is enormous. You could spend three months in the state and still feel like you’ve barely scratched its surface. But for a first trip — and for most trips — the Jaipur-Jodhpur-Udaipur triangle covers the three most distinctive cities, three completely different architectural languages, and three unique experiences of what Rajput culture looks and feels like.
Seven days is enough for depth without rushing. This is the itinerary, the costs, and the decisions you’ll need to make.

Day 3-4: Jodhpur — The Blue City

Old city walk in Sardar Bazaar. Day 4: Jaswant Thada (the Rajput Taj), Umaid Bhawan Palace (exterior and museum), Mandore Gardens.
- Stay: Guesthouses in the old city below Mehrangarh — the atmosphere and views justify the slightly further distance from train station

Day 7: Return
Udaipur Airport connects to Delhi, Mumbai, and other major cities. Or train to Ahmedabad (2.5 hrs) and flight connections. The last morning: Gangaur Ghat at sunrise, final chai, departure.
